Saturday 13 October
Well, it's been a good few days! Molly Childers headed to Bangor On Dee on Thursday, for their hastily rescheduled 'Exeter card'. Bangor has always been a lovely track - but I have to say, under the present committee and management, they have taken things to another level. A really warm welcome, and fantastic facilities - we will be back more often! For those worrying - I can do the trip in 2.5 hours from home - so although it sounds a long way away - it really isn't! To the race - and Molly ran a fantastic race on Chasing debut. facing just 3 rivals she tracked the leader, jumped for fun, and ran very very well to be a close second!! She has a fantastic future over fences - there is a share available, so if you want to join her on her chasing journey please get in touch - she is rated 132 over hurdles, and they say that Thursdays winner is far far better than his hurdling mark, and he had also had the benefit of a couple of runs over fences, and it was MC's debut, so she will be right up there with the best staying chase mares in the country - what more do you want!! She has come out of her race in great order, and will go again in around 3 weeks. Yesterday, stable star Maria's Benefit went to a very soggy Newton Abbot. The ground was given as heavy, but is was wet and sloshy - not ideal to make your chasing debut on, but nonetheless, she had to start somewhere, and as Stuart said, it was better than good to firm! MB was excellent, like MC, jumping for fun, and putting 2 decent rivals very much to the sword! She looks to be every inch as good over fences as hurdles - so Paul and Jan will be having a great time with her this winter! Today Theclockisticking ran a fantastic race in the £50,000 Silver Plate hurdle in Chepstow. Settled in mid field, he flew up the home straight to finish 5th beaten just over 3 lengths. There is a big handicap on him over hurdles this autumn, and it looks like he will properly get a trip in a strong run race now, so there will be plenty of options for him! His is such an honest little horse - a real credit! In other good news - it was good to see Go Millie Go canter today - she is a lovely mare - just a self harmer - so it was good to see her out. Our Bubba went really nicely upsides Domesday Book. Lily's Arc really caught the eye upsides the 77 (flat) rated Red Royalist. She is a cracking little filly, and hopefully the rain will hang around so that she can get some nice ground on which to make her debut - she is ready to run ( another share taken in her today - so just 2 remain!! - again - get in touch!), Queenohearts moved well in her canter along with Classic Ben and Pull Together. QOH and PT will be ready for the soft ground 9 share available in PT), Classic Ben will work next week, and we will look for his next engagement. If you are interested in any of the shares we have on offer please email nickbrownracing@gmail.com - they are all on the For Sale Page and are all really nice horses with big futures!!
