Wednesday 7 November

Our Bubba gets to make his rules debut in the Chepstow bumper this afternoon. This fine big horse, has some decent form in Irish Point to Points, and has shown up well in his work, and this big galloping horse will be suited by the track. This is always a decent bumper, Queenohearts finishing fourth in it last year, but the ground has come right for a big fellow, and we are all looking forward to getting going with him. Good luck to his owners John and Colin. Rain is about, but will there be enough for Kaloci? The ground is good to firm in Fontwell, so they will need plenty, and I'm not sure there is enough in the forecast. Her ground will come - she needs it on the soft side for sure. Her half sister Lilly's Arc has come out of her race in fine form - she was a little stiff and sore for a couple of days - but is A1 now, with Stuart reporting her to be sharper for her initial experience. She could well head back to Southwell in a couple of weeks for a mares bumper. Pull Together is in good form, and with rain in the forecast for the next few days he has a few entries pending. Queenohearts is another that is ready to run when we get some rain, and will start of in a mares hurdle, with races in Exeter, Newcastle, Warwick Lingfield and Doncaster on the radar this month. Classic Ben has had his wind looked at, and all is fine on that front, he will run again in the next couple of weeks. Molly Childers has 2 entries this week, with still a slim chance of going to Market Rasen tomorrow in a Listed chase for mares. The race looks to be cutting up, and the good ground will suit, so we will monitor it over the course of the next hour or so, and pop her in if we feel we can gain valuable black type. Getaway Mixie is back cantering and moving well, along with Go Millie Go, who is now doing faster work, and doing it very nicely. She shouldn't be long now! Land League is still the model patient, and is recovering well from his recent surgery to remove a bone chip. He is back doing the rounds on the walker, and will hopefully be back on track in the spring, and have a summer campaign.
