Lilly's Arc will have a couple of weeks of easier exercise and will not go to Ludlow next week as planned. This lovely little mare is just like her half sister, Kaloci, in that she is small, but oh so tough. She made her debut in Southwell last month, and ran a cracking race to be beaten just 10 lengths. The morning after she was pretty stiff and sore, as she had really put it all in on the track, and after a few days she got a lot better and resumed work. She had been pleasing the trainer, who was full of praise for her latest piece of work, and we were all looking forward to an even better run on her next start, but unfortunately, the quick work has made her sore again, and she will now have treatment to alleviate her discomfort, which will be done on Monday. After this she will continue on the walker, and be back cantering a couple of weeks after that. One that is going the other way is Getaway Mixie - she suffered a minor set back in early October, but has now done a couple of very nice pieces of work, and has been entered in the Ludlow race next Wednesday. After her work yesterday Stuart had said that she wouldn't be ready for next week, but as there really are not that many options against her own sex, he decided thsi morning to give her an entry, as he said he would kick himself if she worked well on Saturday, and was ready to run, but had no engagement. Her second place in her Irish maiden Point always looked like being decent form, as the winner is a half sister to Minella Rocco, and so it was proved a few days ago when that rival, Sinoria was beaten 1 1/4 lengths in a very decent looking Gowran maiden hurdle against some very good geldings. Getaway Mixie was very ill in the spring, and came within a day of losing her life, so I think the world of this tough mare, and just getting her to a track will be nothing short of a miracle! San Seb has an entry to make his hurdling debut in Fakenham next week, I am told he has schooled very well at home, but is in against some very decent juveniles in this heat.
