Friday 15 February

Three runners in the next three days. Queenohearts goes to the Grade 2 Jane Seymour as favourite. We know she likes the track, as she won the Listed EBF Mares Bumper here just under 12 months ago, the ground today is very much like it was on that day, and the trip will be ideal - so all in all, so long as she can give 5lbs to her other 5 rivals, she should run very well. Queenohearts has gained black type twice, having won a listed hurdle on her last start, to go with the Sandown bumper win, and tomorrow we are trying to get a bit of Black Type for Molly Childers. The phrase Black Type refers to how horses are catalogued in sales catalogues. If a horse has won or been placed in Pattern Company, ie. Listed or Graded races, their names on the pedigree pages in catalogues are highlighted by being in Black (Bold ) Type, this illustrates the ability of family members down through 4 generations at a quick glance. To have a mare gain black type, means that she has competed at the higher levels, and the value of her foals is therefore increased. As you can see it can make a big difference to the 'paddock values' of these girls, so hopefully Molly can get some tomorrow! On Sunday Our Bubba makes his second start over hurdles in Huntingdon. This lovely big horse, will not be seen at his best until he is chasing in the future, but he is well, and will run a nice race. Josh Moore rides him, and it is good to have him back in the colours on Sunday. Good luck to all those with runners this weekend, let's hope there is a winner or two among them!
