Too Good

You can have too much of a good thing - and just at the moment - that is Good Ground. It seems amazing that here we are on the 25th of February, and we are running into racing surfaces that are on the quick side. It has been a very dry winter, and with the recent lack of any rain - the ground at the tracks is really quite quick. Pull Together wasn't declared in Leicester tomorrow as their chase course is Good To Firm down the back straight. He has only ever run on soft/heavy ground, but we would consider running him on a sounder surface, but not that quick! When you think of it, we were SO lucky to have got the Sandown run/win into Queenohearts, who also needs soft ground - had to survive the flu scare - the stars certainly aligned for that one! QOH is fine, will be entered in the mares novice at the Festival, but will not run there in either race unless the heavens open. She is far more likely to run in Fairyhouse in April. I saw Land League canter on Saturday, and he looked in fine form - taking a firm grip, and really wanting to get on with his work! Classic Ben is fine, and will be aimed at Uttoxeter in 3 weeks time. Molly Childers is also well, we are sure that she wasn't at her best in Wincanton, despite gaining valuable Black Type, and she could head to Bangor on Dee later on in March, with a possible outing in either Ayr over hurdles, or Perth over fences later on in April. Lilly's Arc is in good order, and has schooled very well over hurdles and baby fences. Like everything she does, she just wants to please - she is another that needs soft ground, and we will have to be patient. Figarella Borget continues to please, and she will have an entry in Catterick on March 6th. She goes nicely at home, and looks to have a nice future. There is a race for her in Southwell as well, but we will take a view on the Arena Racing situation nearer the time. Arena Racing have decreased prizemoney for some of the races at their tracks, which leads to extra funding for prize money for these races failing to be unlocked - this is hitting the lowest ranks in racing the hardest, and we will see if this situation is still in place when we come to enter. Our Bubba is cantering, and will hopefully head to Newbury later in March.
