Tuesday 23 April

Things are winding down now - more and more horses are having their shoes and rugs off, and heading out on their holidays. In the last week we have had a couple of runners - Molly Childers ran another cracking race to be third in Cheltenham - she never lets her loyal owners down, and those that could make it had a fantastic day in the Cotswolds, at the home of Jump racing. To stand in the third place spot in that hallowed unsaddling enclosure was a thrill for everyone, although Molly failed to make it back for the celebrations, as she had given her all, and on a hot day, the vets got her back to the stables in short order to cool her down. She seems fine after her run, and heads off on holiday. Figarella Borget had her second start yesterday in a Fakenham bumper. A super afternoon, with record breaking temperatures - FB improved on her debut to finish 6th. In a race run a break neck speed, she ran a super race - just running out of strength 3/4 of the way down the back, but she responded to 2 reminders from Ciaran and ran right to the line. She is technically not yet 4, but has speed, and lacks maturity and strength. This will come, and she too heads off for a break for a couple of months. Queenohearts will head off to The Elms shortly, her injury, now healed sufficiently to no longer require daily care. Classic Ben headed off last week, and is at the Elms too. Our Bubba remains at Fences Farm for another couple of weeks to complete his recuoperation from his unfortunate injury in Feb. Getaway Mixie will need a few more weeks of recuperation before she heads off to the stud for her holiday - she didn't really have one last year, and we hope a good spell away will see her come healthy again in the autumn. Land League worked very well on Saturday, and is an intended runner in Chepstow on Friday evening. We have a good take up of shares in the 3 yr old filly by Winged Love. She is now cantering, and Stuart is very pleased with what he sees, she will start her career proper in the autumn, and there are no fees to pay until she returns to Fences Farm - so get in touch if you would like to join in with her. More shares were taken up yesterday - so don't hang about!! 07909 518902.
