Sunday 16 June

A week spent at the sales in Ireland is never a wasted week! Paul Wells and I popped over to the Goffs Landrover sale in Kildare last week, and were joined by Ian and Ben Turner on Tuesday. A really fun few days - where we sold a nice horse, who has gone to Irelands Champion Point To Point trainer, Colin Bowe, and we wish him the very best of luck with him. He is a lovely horse, and should do him very well. Thanks to Louise and her team at The Elms Stud, who produced the horse to look fantastic in the sunshine - which we had a lot more of than you folks did over here! With just the one horse in work at the moment, we are quiet, but Land League is entered in Uttoxeter on Wednesday. His last run was very good in Huntingdon, and he has had his wind tidied up since then as well. Hopefully the ground will dry up, as at is a waste of time running him on anything other than a sound surface - we need the weather to play ball. A week on Tuesday we head back out to more sales in Ireland - the prestigious, Tattersalls Ireland, Derby Sale - where we will be offering two horses for sale. A gelding by Maresca Sorento, who is out of a half sister to Tocca Ferro and Le Bec - he is a lovely big scopey good looking horse, with really straight, loose movement. The second is a 3 yr old gelding by Nathaniel, out of a black type mare, who is a half sister to another black type performer. Despite his flat orientated pedigree, this horse is a fine big horse, with a powerful stride on him. He ticks all the boxes and should be very well received.
