There has been a bit going on since Royal Ascot. Land League went to Southwell last Monday. A very warm and stiflingly muggy day, he took his chance in the conditional jockeys handicap hurdle, with leading conditional Richard Patrick in the plate. LL had had a wind op since his previous run, and we were looking forward to seeing how he performed. He has been a puzzle in terms of trip - we run him over 2m 4f and it looks like he needs a drop back to 2, and we run him over a stiff 2, and it looks like he needs 2m4f. On Monday he put another element into the puzzle, after staying on over 2m 4f he looks like he needs 3m! It is a possibility that he was frightened that his palate was going to let him down again, and was looking after himself a bit, until after he realised all was well he got down and galloped to the line. He looked a little light in the prelims, and knew he had had a race afterwards, so he will have an easy week - 10 days, and be out again in a few weeks, where we will look at available races and see where he goes. He has the option of returning to chasing. This week we have been in Ireland at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale. The premiere National Hunt Store sale in the world where we were fortunate enough to be selling two more of our store horses from our investment syndicates. It was a successful week, with both selling well and achieving an aggregate sum of 130,000 Euros. With the other horse selling in the Landrover Sale in Goffs a couple of weeks ago, it means we have sold all 3, and together they have achieved an impressive return for investors at this stage! Thanks to everyone that has had a part in our ventures so far, and who have helped us into profit at after our first year! There are a couple of shares in our latest investment syndicate if anyone is interested in joining - nickbrownracing@gmail.com. All eyes now turn to Deauville and the Arqana summer sale where we hope to be adding to a couple of our teams, and who knows we may be able to find a new horse to go racing with this season. If you are interested in owning a share in what will probably be a juvenile hurdler for the 2019/20 season then, again, please get in touch 07909 518902, or nickbrownracing@gmail.com
