Wednesday 14 August

Land League showed on his latest start in a chase in Market Rasen, that he definitely needs to step up in trip. It was also clear, that over fences at least, he needs to go right handed, so with a 2m5f chase back at the track on Saturday, he got an entry. The slight glitch was that on Monday when he was entered he was rated right on the ceiling of 105 - but yesterday he was raised 2 lbs to a mark of 107 - it still means he can run, but will ow have to shoulder 12st. Despite this, it is the right race, in the right grade, over a bit further than last time - so he is an intended runner. Despite having to carry 12st, Ciaran will ride, as he has now got a good feel of the horse, and gets on well with him. There is still a share available in him if anyone would like to join the rest of his lovely owners in the paddock in Saturday evening - details are on the For Sale Page. nickbrownracing@gmail.com for further details. It looks Go Millie Go will have a full compliment of owners in a couple of weeks, although I do know that one if the 6 share holders is looking for a co-owner, so if someone would like to get in touch, I can facilitate that for both parties. GMG is cantering away nicely, and is in good form. The, as yet un named 3 yr old that we purchased out of the Goffs Landrover Sale in June, has been broken in by Dave and Clare Sherlock of Birch Farm Stud in Cheshire, and is now having a few weeks to get over his intensive learning period. He is at The Elms, and will have a few weeks in the field before heading off to Fence Farm. He is owned by The Ivo Partnership, and will run in their colours - he could make his debut in a 3 yr old bumper before Christmas, and we wish his new owners the very best of luck with him. We are also trying to find a bit of value in the Tattersalls August Sale in Fairyhouse, but that isn't easy - hopefully we can get something over the course of the next couple of days - yesterday was a blank. Also hoping that we can add a juvenile hurdler to the ranks very soon - we have made a few enquiries, and have options in France next week - so watch this space. As ever - it takes time and patience to get the right horse! Stuart is pleased with all the horses that are now back in - all is going the right way, plenty are now cantering, and as soon as I can put some weight on my gammy ankle - I will be over to the yard to get an update, and some photos for everyone!
