Wednesday 21 August

It was nearly the worst of all worlds yesterday morning. We were all hitting the refresh button on the BHA site early doors, to see what the handicapper had done with Land League. He remains on 107 - raised 2 lbs for getting beaten on his penultimate start - he was beaten just 2 lengths on Saturday - and as 1lb equates to 1 length - it shows that he was beaten by the extra 2lbs the handicapper deemed fit to give him. So not unreasonable to think that he would drop him, if not 2lbs, then surely 1 - oh no - he remains the same. The handicapper was in sharp receipt of a call from the trainer - who was stunned to hear that he was lucky not to go up a lb! The good news is that he has come out of the race in good order, and is off to Bourton On The Water today to have his wind looked at - his last op was not a success, so he needs a different procedure - hopefully this one will be successful, and he will be back on the track and winning in around 6 weeks time. Also making the trip with him is Molly Childers - she will have an overland scope, and then whichever procedure is prescribed, to sort out her small problem. She has never had the best wind - but toughs through it, and hopefully she too will feel the benefit of a different op, to the one she has been having, should that be what the vet thinks she needs. All of the shares in Go Millie Go are now spoken for - and she is moving well and looking good at this stage. Shares are getting thin on the ground for the upcoming season, just the one in Land League, and very few in the 3 yr old filly, Blue Bikini. This filly looks really well at The Elms Stud, and will head into training in October. She is out of a Listed placed French Mare, and is a half sister to the dam of Blue Sari, one of the best bumper performers of last season, who looks to have a very bright future over hurdles this winter and is currently at the head of the market for the 2020 Supreme Novices Hurdle. This young lady has a really up to date pedigree, and is a very smart looking prospect - shares are priced at just £25/week all inc. with no capital costs. I am also in the process of putting together a deal to purchase a 3 yr old off of the flat, to go juvenile hurdling this season. Shares will be limited - so if you are interested, please get in touch for further details. 07909 518902.
