Friday 3 July
It has been a bit of a wait - but we are ready to go again. Figarella Borget has a couple of entries in Stratford on the 8th, her target is the 2m mares novices hurdle, but that looked like being significantly oversubscribed, so we dobbed her in the 2m 6f novices hurdle, just in case she didn't get a good ballot for her first choice contest. Thankfully she swerved a ballot and runs. She is in good form, and it's good to have her back. She is the sort of mare that will need her handicap mark, and hopefully she will be assessed after her run next week. She is electric over a hurdle, and it will be good to be back racing, although I will not be attending, as it seems very unfair for me to take up 50% of the allocation, so I that will free up both badges for her owners. Land League continues in great order, and it won't be long before he is back on track as well. He retains all of his old enthusiasm, and will hopefully be back in the winners circle this season. Of the rest, plenty have gone back into work - Molly Childers, Hi Ho Silva Lining, Go Millie Go, Our Bubba have all returned to Edmunds, and Fergal and Sally picked up Yauthym on their way back from Southwell on Wednesday evening. Good to see the O'Brien yard get off the mark on the first day of jump racing, they have picked up where they left off - in good form. Fergal is very keen to get going with Yauthym again, and when we discussed the forthcoming season last week, he was very keen on adding to her black type in some nice Listed races this season. Classic Ben, Queenohearts, and Blue Bikini will return to training later this month.
