Safe to say that I have been amazed with the response to the new syndicate with Fergal O'Brien. Negotiations were ongoing over the Bank Holiday weekend, but on Monday we agreed a deal, and we have a lovely filly. She was one that I really liked when I saw her catalogued in the Tattersalls Ireland Derby sale, but she went slightly over our budget - as luck would have it she was bought by a client of a friend, who agreed that we could have her to run - so a win win really!! She is a fine filly. She is by Kapgarde who is such an outstanding sire - his stock include dual King George winner Clan Des Obeaux, Cheltenham Festival, and Grade 1 winner A Plus Tard along with a host of others - he is one of the very top sires in France and has been for many years, commanding a 15,000 Euro covering fee. Her dam was a winner in France, and has already bred a winner over there, and also a very highly regarded son of No Risk At All who fell on his debut in Ireland but is highly thought of by his trainer Tony Martin. Her dam is also the half sister to a black type performer in France, who is the dam of a horse called Beaumec De Houelle, who was a very high class hurdler, winning five of his six races in France, including a Grade 1 - and who is now standing as a jumps sire over there, and from what I hear, his first foals, born this year have been very well regarded, and he could well have a very big future as a stallion. The filly has been broken, and after a brief spell of R&R will head into pre training before heading on to Fergal O'Brien. She will be aimed at Bumpers this season, and with her looks, movement, pedigree and attitude, you would hope that she would be good enough to compete in some of the better races restricted to fillies and mares in the spring. The dream would be heading to Aintree with her, or possibly Punchestown. There are just 25 shares available, and as I type this there are currently less than 5 left available - and considering we only got it all sealed 100% on Monday, that is nothing short of incredible - I don't think I have ever syndicated a horse so quickly! There are a mixture of existing, returning and new clients, and I thank you all for your support. Shares are priced at £25/week - with no capital outlay, and absolutely no hidden extras - £25 is £25, and that is that!! She will be joining a yard in terrific form. The Ravenswell team have them popping out of their skins at present, with 20 winners, at an unbelievable strike rate of 27%, there is an awful lot to like about the latest venture - get in touch to join the team - nickbrownracing@gmail.com - further details can be found on our For Sale Page. But don't delay, as at this rate we will be needing another horse very soon! For those that prefer a smaller group, there will be news of another 5/6 person syndicate later this week - but that will have a significant twist to it - and you will need a passport - as the horse will be trained and campaigned in France!! Stay tuned - the people involved are at the very top of the French Jumps scene!! You will have to be quick with this one as well, as although still just in the planning phase, I have interest in 5 shares at the moment, after I mentioned it on here a few days ago. 07909 518902
