Boleyn Bloodstock Ltd, one of our investment syndicates received some welcome news yesterday, when one of the horses that they have got a significant pedigree update. In Swoop, this years German Derby winner, contested Frances' premier 1m 4f contest, the Group 1, Grand Prix De Paris. He had won the Deutsches Derby on just his third start, and in a very strong field, including the winner of this years Epsom Derby, he went off a 9/1 shot yesterday. On ground thought to be a bit lively for him, he exhibited his usual run style, staying on really well for pressure to finish second. In Swoop is by leading German sire Adlerflug, out of German Oaks winner Iota - making him a close relative if the 2 yr old that Boleyn have, who is also by Adlerflug. We can dream! Great to get pics and vids of the Kapgarde filly down at Jason Maguires - she has settled well and is now cantering away in the school nicely. Jason likes her very much. There were plenty of folks who were just not quite quick enouugh on the finger to snaffle the last share in her, but we are getting a good sized list together of those that would like to join a similar syndicate - with an equally impressively bred filly - if you would like your name to be added to the list, then please let me know by emailing nickbrownracing@gmail.com, or texting 07909 518902. There is no obligation - and costs are just an all inclusive £25/week, which may explain why there are currently over half the spaces already reserved! Time is rapidly rolling round - and a lot of the race horses are stepping up their work. In Fences Farm, Molly Childers, Our Bubba and Go Millie Go are all slipping along now, and later this week we will be looking for races for them. They will all be ready to run around the end of the month, ground permitting. The remainder - Blue Bikini, Classic Ben, Queenohearts ar now all cantering, and all look well. Down at Fergal O'Brien's - Yauthym is going very well, and Fergal is very happy with her, and San Seb will soon join her at Ravenswell Farm, he is going really well, and fingers crossed the wheels stay on as he moving like the class horse that we think he is! We are casting our net a long way today - and will be trying to secure another horse for one of our Partnerships, fingers crossed it all works out, and we can add another new face to the squad. I will be heading up to Doncaster, where there are a couple of interest, but I think they make just a little more than the level we value them to, so I am unlikely to get what I want up there to be honest. Our French adventure is still very much going forward - but very much as we do on this side of the Channel, we will be patient and wait for the right horse for the job. We will be buying 2 yr old store for that job, and very much the place to but that will be in the Arqana Autumn sale in Deauville in November, where there is a section set aside for selected 2 yr olds.
