Monday 12 October
I'm not sure that mid October is bikini weather, but hopefully there is one bikini we will be seeing before too long. Blue Bikini will do her first piece of proper work on Wednesday, and after that we should be able to find a suitable starting point for her - with bumpers in Aintree, and Taunton later this month, or Warwick just into November, possible races where she could make her debut. Molly Childers is well and has a race in Exeter in early November planned as her next outing. Go Millie Go will be ready to go again in a couple of weeks. Queenohearts and Classic Ben were later back, but both are stepping up in their work. Our Bubba, who's jumping was certainly less than spectacular over hurdles after a long lay off, has been schooled over fences, and has been very good. He will now make the switch to novice handicap chases, and a race will be found for him when we see what mark the handicapper gives him tomorrow. Hi Ho Silva Lining was balloted out of his intended debut in Huntingdon tomorrow, and will have to wait a few days before he gets another entry. Down in Gloucestershire things ae hotting up at the Ravenswell Farm yard of Fergal O'Brien. Yauthym is ready to run - Fergal said last Friday 'she went like a rocket'!! and did a piece of work that told him she was definitely ready to run. She will have an entry very shortly in a novices' hurdle. He is really pleased with her, and thinks she has definitely improved physically from the filly he had last winter. Volkovka and San Seb were due to return to Ravenswell from Jason Maguire's Ivy Lodge Farm at the weekend, but that has been delayed until tomorrow. We are very much looking forward to cracking on with those two! The Kapgarde filly has gone out for a few weeks R&R to get over the stresses of her sale, and the subsequent breaking in, and yard moves. She will return into pre training proper in about a month with Jason and his team. I've added another horse to the ever increasing team for the future. I have secured a daughter of Jukebox Jury, from a family we know very very well. She is a gorgeous looking weanling, and will arrive in the UK later this week. She is from a good family, that we think will get even better over the course of the next year or two - and as she is by the same sire as the wonderful Princess Zoe, winner of the Group 1 Prix Du Cadran in Paris Longchamp just over a week ago, I am really pleased to get her!! She will be syndicated at 3, unless sold beforehand. The perpetual search for more value talent continues as I seem to have an ever increasing waiting list for another 25 strong syndicate. I have plenty of horses in the tracker, it is just a case of waiting for the right horse to be available at the right money. We are sure to have something by the end of the month. Please get in touch if you would like to be added to the list, 07909 518902 or email nickbrownracing@gmail.com - remember, the last one filled within 48 hours, so you're better off on the list than off of it!!
