Girls Out
This week we have the girls out. Volkovka kicked the week off with an improved run in Leicester - well, to be fair anything would have been an improvement on her Fakenham debut where just about everything that could go wrong went wrong. Volkovka was very keen in the Fakenham race, so Paddy was very much minded to keep her very settled and walked out of the gate in last place. With the hood on she settled much better, she got a good look at her hurdles, but to be fair there is still room for massive improvement in that department. She was 30 lengths off of the front as they began the decent down the back straight, but made up the ground with ease, and was latched on to the back of the pack as they turned in. Paddy switched her inside, and she looked to be going as well as any going to 3 out. Again she wasn't foot perfect at it, and it was the same 2 out - with an even worse mistake at the last, after which Paddy was very easy on her. She came home 25 lengths behind a very impressive winner of Stuarts. Paddy was pleased with her, and like we all can see says her jumping needs to get better - but she will continue to school, and this, allied with the regime she is on at home she will only improve in that department - Rome wasn't built in a day!! At the weekend, Go Millie Go has entries in both Ascot and Exeter - ground and opposition will determine where she goes. Yauthym missed her intended engagement in Fakenham tomorrow, but will be entered again soon. We have just added to the team - and as well as a new horse, we will be adding a new trainer to the ranks as well - email nickbrownracing@gmail.com for further details- and who knows we could have another one by the end if the day as well!! Stay tuned!!!
