Saturday 11 October

What a beautiful morning!! Certainly a good morning to watch the horses. It was not the busiest of mornings, as there are one or two on the easy list for another few days, and quite a few had run in the last week or so. First lot saw Troglodyte,Ogee, and College Ace all have a walk and trot about, they also did one steady canter just to stretch their legs. After breakfast a few owners both new and old pitched up. Ben Turner along with his Father, Brother and Uncle came to see Bobby Gee and finalise his quarter share, Bob Graham came in to see Kikos and Rousing Rob, and Don McGeachy showed up later on just to walk round and have a look at things. Everyone chose a really good morning to come - the weather was fantastic, although Ben did get a little chilly on top of the hill (he needs to wait for January)!! Kikos worked with Important Business second lot, and both were very very good. Kikos will not be declared for Huntingdon on Tuesday as the ground is good to firm, instead he will wait for Uttoxeter at the end of the month, and Important Business will head to Aintree on Satuday or Sunday the 25th or 26th of October. Mattaking is fine after Towcester and will have an entry at Plumpton a week on Monday. Bobby Gee will resume fitness work in about 10 days, as he is showing no ill effects of his muscle tear last week. All in all a very good morning, and a real pleasure to be watching the horses and making a few plans.
