Friday 31 October

A really enjoyable day out at Uttoxeter for a large number of the members of Nick Brown Racing, who were there to see their horse Kikos run in his second chase since we purchased him at the sales in the spring. Kikos did them proud! After having a little lie down at the third last on his chasing debut last month it was very important to have a clear round and we did just that. He jumped really well, and finished a very good second to a nice sort from the Tizzard yard who was returning after a long break. It was a really good run from our boy, he travelled and jumped very well apart from getting in a little close to the fourth last, and saw out the trip well. We have learnt that he is better suited by a sounder surface, and if we can find a few races on decent ground throughout the winter we will be having a great deal of fun with him! Uttoxeter is by far our favourite track - the owners are well looked after and most of all the horses from Fences Farm all seem to run really well there!! Well done to Mrs Robeson and her team, and thanks very much to Rachael, who turned out Kikos looking a million dollars, and would have easily have won the best turned out if there had been one. Hopefully all is well with Kikos tomorrow and over the next few days and we will look for another race in about 3 weeks.
