Saturday 13 December

This morning came around all too quickly after yesterdays marathon, and it was soon clear that Important Business' trip to Doncaster would not be coming off. The Clerk of the course was very helpful and said that by the time racing got underway up there, the ground would be very testing which would not suit our chap, and the decision was made not to travel. He worked well instead, and was entered for Ascot next Friday. E Major has a slight over-reach and had to miss a bit of work today as he was a bit sore on it, so he will miss Newbury on Wednesday. We did not fancy taking on some of those flying machines anyway!! Hereford the week after is his next target. Kikos worked very well and is in the form of his life. We hope that the ground dries up enough for him to take his chance on Wednesday also at Newbury. We think the drop in trip will suit, and Sam has always said he felt that he would really enjoy a big galloping track - and they don't come much bigger or galloping than Newbury! Bobby Gee was scoped yesterday and he is clear of his sore throat, and it is all systems go for him, with Haydock on 30 December his target. Mattaking has also got over his niggle and we will now press on with him and get him schooled next week, and hopefully he will show no ill effects of his fall. An eyecatcher this morning was an unraced 3 year old filly called Bahreyna, who went well, and should make her debut next week.
