Important Business seemed to have every chance to open his account at Huntingdon, but once again when we think we have the ideal opportunity for one of our horses the Gods of racing seem to frown upon us, and things go wrong! Last week it was the very soft ground that beat Kikos, and today it was a slipping saddle that did for IB. In the end he finished third, but losing the weight cloth about 100yards from the finish, meant that Sam weighed in light, and he was subsequently disqualified. A bitter disappointment to those that had made the effort to come, as this was always likely to be the horses last outing for a while, until we get some better ground in the spring. But, that, as they say is racing, and we have learnt a few things about IB now and fully intend to make use of them in the spring when he should be getting that long awaited victory. Daurica also ran in the mares bumper, and although very green, ran a sound race and will be seen at her best when handicap hurdling (although she was in the better division, and would probably have been in the first four in the second div)
