Friday 9 January

We are keeping everything crossed that Wetherby gets the go ahead tomorrow! Bobby Gee is declared in the 3m 1f handicap hurdle, and although originally framed as a 0-130 contest, after declarations the top weight is only rated 121, so it looks like it has cut up a bit. There are a couple of nice sorts in there, but Bobs is very well and should be well equipped to cope with the step up in trip, so we are hopeful of a good run if it is on. Kikos will not be going to Yorkshire as the ground is on the soft side for him, but is entered at Newbury next Wednesday, along with E Major.Bahreyna is also bypassing tomorrow as the ground will be a bit churned up by the time the bumper is run, and she is such a nice filly, it is important that she has an enjoyable first experience at the races. Mattaking will continue to have entries, and we will monitor his well being, and the strength of opposition over the next few days before deciding on his next target. Important Business paid a visit to the vets this week to have his splint pin fired, and will be on box rest for a couple of weeks, after which he will resume light work and be prepared for a spring campaign.
