Monday 19 January

Good news to report - Rouising Rob has made a fantastic recovery from his op. and is back home at Fences Farm. He returned last Friday and has had a few days in the pen during the day, and in the cow shed at night, and he appears to be in really good order. He is bucking and kicking around the field and feels as fresh as paint. He will spend the rest of the winter, spring and early summer out in the field, and then begin his pre-training regime in mid July. I am so glad that we have got to the bottom of his problem, and personally think that he is going to be well worth the wait, as he has shown that he has a serious engine at home, and coming from the quality family of Cape Tribulation, and Potentate he should be doing good things on the track. It looks like we are in for a very wet spell over the next few weeks, so runners may be few and far between, as the ground at the moment is simply awful - but what should we expect from the middle of January. The recent frosts seem to have loosened the top few inches and the subsequent rain has really made the ground hard work. We must be patient as things will change as we start to get longer daylight hours.
