Saturday 31 January

It was a lovely morning up at Fence Farm this morning, and all the horses seem to be in good form. Out first lot were Ogee, Mattaking, Kikos and Bobby Gee and they all went well. Bobby is particularly well and I can't wait to see him out next week - he will have an entry at Warwick on Saturday. Mattaking went well along side with Kikos in behind, I would imagine that the more likely runner on Thursday is Mattaking, but we will monitor the ground. Stuart and Trish went off hunting after breakfast, and it was good to see Alan Gibson pop over to see his horses Kikos and Important Business,IB went out third lot for a walk around the roads and looks fantastic- he is eating for England, and has put on plenty of weight during his spell on the sidelines, the treatment on his splint seems to have worked well, and he will be back in the Spring. All the horses out second lot were homebreds and all worked well, although E Major managed to lose a shoe - but there seemed to be no ill effects. Entries this week include Icterus at Southwell, Matty and Bobby at Huntingdon, and Bobby on Saturday. Let's hope we beat the freeze and get some sport. It was good to see Kayf Tara get his first Graded Chase winner when Kornati Kid battled well to win at Wetherby - let's hope our new girl can reach those heights in the future. It is very exciting and a lot to look forward to.
