Saturday 28 February

A lovely morning at Fences Farm, all the horses worked well. Those that had run during the last couple of days all had a ride around the farm. Trogs is well after his run on Thursday, he ran well to be fifth, he seemed to have his old sparkle back, and when he gets some help from the handicapper he will be competitive again. He is at least 10lbs too high, and Mrs Robeson has had strong words with the Handicapper but he has made a case for him being where he is and will not budge - personally I can see no reason for him being that high, Mrs Robeson has, for his last couple of runs even resorted to headgear to eek out some improvement and he is still not competitive off his current mark, so what more can anyone do!! Lets hope he comes down soon!. He has a slight cut and had a couple of stitches at the racecourse but he has healed well. The two runners tomorrow breezed well. E Major has had the greatest misfortune and been drawn in the far stronger division of the Novices Hurdle, but he will be better than at Newbury. Bahreyna is in the bumper and if the tongue tie works should go well. Kikos went for a walk around the farm and is in fine form. Bobby worked well second lot and Matty is off games for now and will be scanned at the end of next week to ascertain the extent of his injury.Important Business looks fantastic, and could be ready in 2 weeks, but Stuart will keep the lid on him for a while until we get the genuine good ground in the spring.
