It will be a change of jockey if we do actually get to Market Rasen on Saturday. Unfortunately Sam was injured in a fall at Stratford on Sunday, and even though he rode in the next race (and finished fourth) it was confirmed yesterday that he has cracked his collar bone, and will be out for 10 days. Bad news for Sam, and indeed for us, as I think a change of jockey at this stage is counter productive. SP has built up a really good understanding of Kikos, and the two have made a formidable team. Sam is the only jockey to have ridden the horse for us, and as I have said many times, Kikos is not an easy ride, so we will have to look at one of the better jockeys to take his place. I am sure there will be plenty of them wanting the ride! We all wish Sam a speedy recovery! This is of course if we actually get there! The ground is currently Good (with the same going stick reading as the time he was second to King Troy) but if the forecast is right they can expect 15-20mm overnight, and if they get that then our run will be seriously in doubt. Let's hope the forecast is wrong! If we do get there it will be a great day for Gwyneth Huggins, and Brian Holmes who have purchased the remaining 2 shares in Kikos. Unfortunately Brian will be at Newmarket on Saturday and will miss out, but Gwyneth and her husband Martyn are looking forward to making the trek to North Lincs and seeing their new horse in the flesh. Welcome on board to both - I hope you have an enjoyable and successful time with Nick Brown Racing. As I mentioned Kikos is now sold out, but a new Club will begin in the next few weeks, that will involve leasing a horse for the season, and therefore will only cost £20 per week for the duration of the season (no capital outlay, and no extras). What better deal will you find!! Call me on 07909 518902, or email info@nickbrownracing.co.uk for further details.
