Monday 10 August

With Stuart away - it was a lovely peaceful morning at Fences Farm on Saturday. Rousing Rob agin cantered and looked to be moving well, everyone that has ridden him has said how well he feels, and Jo who was on board did nothing to change everyones thoughts that he is in great order, and seems to be moving so much better after his op.Bobby Gee and Jardin De Vienne continue doing their walking and trotting. Fiona and Michael dropped off Important Business and Mattaking at Ann and Colin Garrats Ringtail Farm on Friday afternoon. They have been turned out with Oscar, Anns old showjumper, and Gordon Highlander who some will remember being in training at Fences Farm, and is now a broodmare. Friday was the first night that Matty has been out overnight for about 2 years, so I expect it came as a bit of a shock to him, but he looked thoroughly at ease when I saw him on Saturday morning. Terrible news from the Test Match - but what an exciting finale at the Oval in 10 days time. There will be a lot written about the side - and who should be brought in, and there are even calls for poor old Marcus Trescothic to get a recall, a man who gave up Test cricket due to depression! It amazes me what some people write - they really should keep their noses out of other peoples business and stick to what they are good at - as I really do feel that their comments can be very unwelcome and counter-productive. I am sure the selectors will pick the best team available, and I really do hope that we can beat the Aussies!!
