Sunday 16 August
Not able to get to Fences Farm on Saturday, I saw the horses on Friday night. I had to runquite a bit of horse food over to the yard, so I took the opportinity to go round with Rachel while she put the rugs on and have a look - before heading off to the pub for a couple of pints. They all look really well, and it was nice of Rachel to tell me exactly how each of them are doing as we went round. She says that Jardin De Vienne has 'come alive' and is feeling really well, putting in some pretty impressive bucks during his exercise, it will not be long before he is cantering! Bobby is much the same - he looks really well, almost as if he could run in a fortnight!! She has had him in a different bit for a week or so and he is going well, again, he will be cantering very shortly. Rousing Rob also looks fabulous, he has a real shine to his skin, and is just starting to get a bit cheeky himself. His workload increased yesterday from 1 to 2 canters. With the rain they have been able to school plenty, and Rachel said that Rob really did feel like a different horse!! It should not be long now for his patient owners! Last week I went to see Matty and Important Business at Ann Garratts, and as you can see from the photo they both seem to be enjoying their time out in the sunshine.
