Sunday 8 November

Rock Wren and Bobby Gee travelled to North Lincolnshire today for their seasonal debuts. Rocky was in the Novices Hurdle and ran a great race under Sam to finish 7th. Rocky had been off the course for nearly 2 years, and ran a blinder, he travelled and jumped really well, only getting tired just before 2 out, and coming home well under a sympathetic ride. He seemed fine after the race and will now look to run off his mark in handicaps.Bobby Gee ran in the 6 runner Novices Chase, and it was a very nervous bunch of owners in the paddock. Great to see 'The Turner Tribe' make the trip along with Jay and Mat who came up from London on the train. George Milne and George junior also took advantage of Bobby running at Market Rasen as it is not too far from their Nottinghamshire base. Bobby has been schooling, and working very well at home, and it was great to see him jump and travel so well during the race. He had jumped his way to the front, and had all of his rivel under varying degrees of pressure, when he stumbled after landing over 5 out and shot Sam out of the plate. Unfortunately gravity took over and Sam was unseated between horses legs - which could have been very nasty but fortunately only his pride was hurt. Most people who saw it think that Bob would have won, so it is in a way very pleasing, and as he and Sam both came back in one piece, we can plan to go again in a couple of weeks. It is great to have 'the old Bobby back'!!
