Monday 1 March

Jimmy McCarthy picked up the Jump Jockey Special Recognition Award at the 'Lesters' over the weekend. Well deserved recognition of one of the longest serving members of the weighing room. In the twilight of career, he is having a bit of an indian summer, which will hopefully continue with further success on Ogee at the bigger meetings this spring. We owe him a special debt of gratitude for coming over to Punchestown at the very last minute to ride Olney Lad to victory in 2006, so well done JA. It cleared up to be a nice morning at Fences Farm on Saturday, and all of the horses went well. A dryer week is forecast, so with better ground around the corner we should start to get some better results, as it has been a very disappointing season for us so far. Mattaking and Important Business returned to Fences Farm yesterday, and having been on the walker for a few weeks they can be kicked on with without delay, it is great to have these 2 back, and if anyone would like to lease or buy a share in either of them then please get in touch (07909 518902). They will both be running over the summer months on their favoured quicker ground.
