Wednesday 2 June
Mattaking, who was sore after his last run has his joints injected today to hopefully alleviate the problem. He is bucking and kicking around the walker, so is feeling in grand form, and should soon be back cantering after a few days box rest. Important Business seems A1 after his run and after a brief look at the programme book, it is likely that he will be heading to Market Rasen either later this month or early next month. Jardin De Vienne is entered at Worcester in a Novices Handicap Chase on Saturday, and although the race looked very competitive at an early stage, Stuart suggested I had another look at it, and we both feel that JDV is not that badly treated (top Topspeed, and second top RPR) so he may well make the trip. Kikos worked really well on Saturday and again yesterday and is bang on course for Aintree on June 11. We should have a date for Bobby Gee's breathing operation in the next couple of days. Thanks to Michael and Fiona who found the time for us to go and see the youngsters at their place on Monday, and I was really glad we did! I will put some photos of them all on here later, but just to say that the Overbury yearling purchased in January is simply stunning!! He is the pick of the four babies he is running with and already looks like a beautiful model. The Kayf Tara 2 year old filly has really filled out this spring and also looks fantastic, along with 'Grey Bobby' who looks fantastic too! I came away feeling very happy, and dreaming dreams!!
