Many apologies for missing a large chunk of the last month with the News, but the dry weather has meant quite a bit of chasing around after irrigators, and with an audit to complete as well - time has been at a premium!! To catch up, since the last update - Kikos was a very brave fourth at Stratford on Sunday.Jumping for fun he didn't quite see out the slightly extended trip in that company, but ran very very well. Hopefully the handicapper will drop us a few pounds back into our grade, where he is better off carrying top weight against lesser horses. He will be back winning again soon, but for now he is enjoying a few weeks out in the field, so that he can be back in the late summer when the bigger, more galloping tracks start to stage some fixtures. These will suit him far better than the quick tracks, that are on the go at this time of year. Sam gave him a peach of a ride on Sunday, and went on to win the last for Paul Webber, so congratulations to him!Important Business ran a great race at Market Rasen to be second again, this horse is so unlucky, he just keeps meeting one too good, but unfortunately we will not be seeing him again for at least 12 months as he has got a repeat of the injury he suffred before and will spend a long time off games. He is now at Michael Kehoes and will have his injury injected today.Bobby Gee has had his wind op, and after a couple of weeks convalesence he went back on the walker, and is now doing his pre-training with the rest of the string. He has just started to trot up the hill, and the really good news is that he doesn't make any sort of noise at all, so hopefully the operation has been a success and he can finally show his true form this Autumn. Good news about Mattaking, who we have managed to find a lovely home for down in Suffolk. He will have the winter off, to recover from his injury, and then do a few shows next summer, before enjoying a seasons hunting in the winter of 2011. He will not be short of company, as he will be turned out with some Shires and Suffolks show horses. We all wish Zoe a long and happy time with him. Daurica runs at Uttoxeter today.We are in the process of putting together a new Partnership, in which there are currently only 2 of the 8 places left, so if you would like a share in a runner for the winter let me know. I am also looking at putting together a new Racing Club, for a horse to go through the winter months, the cost of this will only be £20/week (all inclusive), so if you, or anyone you know is interested then please give me a call. Hopefully we will get some rain and the news will be a bit more up to speed. Please do some rain dances!!!!
