Thursday 22 July
We will be popping down to the West Country tomorrow to see possible purchases. Stuart and I will pick up Sam on the way down, so hopefully between the three of us we should be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff! With little to do last night I took the opportunity to pop up to Northampton Towns Sixfilelds 'stadium' (nice ground, but not really in the stadium bracket I fear) to see a pre-season friendly between The Cobblers and Coventry, for whom Ben Turner played at centre half. Coventry ran out winners and it was good to see Ben (part owner of Bobby Gee) get a full 90 minutes after his interupted season last year through injury. From what little I know he seemed to play very well and be in grand form, earning the skippers armband for the second time in a week. Hopefully he will have a successful, and injury free season this time. Good to catch up with his dad Ian and brother Ryan for a pint after the game, they hope to come to see Bobby in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the ground is not too soft or E Major today, the spectre of finishing second and going up in the handicap again looms!!
