It Had to be Bobby! If ever the yard needed a lift after recent events, it should come as no surprise to anyone that it was dear old Bobby Gee who should step up to the plate and help put a spring back in everyones step. A real favourite with all who meet him, Bobby Gee powered up the formidable Towcester hill yesterday for a very impressive 7 length success. We have always held Bobby in some regard, and now that his breathing has been sorted out he is starting to show everyone what he is made of, very much repaying his loyal band of owners for their patience. Mrs Robeson does not have many runners at Towcester, as the course is just so stiff it only suits certain horses, you need a real gutsy horse who will not wilt at the sight of the climb to the line and Bobby certainly fits that bill. It is a shame that we don't have more horses to run there as it is only just down the road, and it was lovely to leave at lunchtime and be back before dark1 A bit different from Plumpton on Monday! Tom O'Brien is the man to have! He has had 3 winners from 3 rides in the last 2 months on our horses, and is 5 from 6 for the yard ( the other one was third)!! Tom was full of praise for Bobby after the run,and said he was a star and could well win again! Well done to The Oakley Partnership, firstly for their patience and faith in Bobby Gee, and in what I was telling them, and also for braving the elements at Towcester yesterday, which just about threw everything at us. On a personal note, it was great to see Tom and Hils in the bar - it is their fault that this whole thing began, and I have not seen Hils since I bought 'Wiz' off of her over 10 years ago! (Many thanks to Adam Collins for the photos)
