Thursday 10 February
A quiet day, Bushlark runs at Huntingdon this afternoon, against her own sex which will help. It will be interesting to see how Finmerello from the Kim Bailey yard runs, as she is a mare that I enquired about last year - an enquiry that indirectly led to the purchase of Robo!!Also the 5yr old half sister to the Tobougg filly that I purchased last month is also in the line up, she is called Persian Forest, and runs for Alan King, who thinks she is a bit backward and will improve for the run. Everyone is praying that we don't get too much rain today, or more importantly Newbury don't get it. If they miss it the ground should be ideal for Ogee on Saturday! Jimmy Macarthy has walked the course yesterday and says the ground is perfect. I am glad we didn't declare Bobby Gee at Huntingdon as their ground has gone Good To Firm in places, and that is too quick for him - we will just hang on, there are plenty of options later in the month, but we may have to get the maps out, as there could be some fairly long journeys.
