Friday 18 February
The yard are double handed at Fakenham this afternoon, where both Honeycreeper and Silver Wren make their debuts in the Mares Bumper.A lot will depend on the weather regarding Ogee's participation at Ascot tomorrow, he does really need good ground (and possibly left handed) so he will be against the elements slightly if he is declared. An alternative is to wait for a nice race at Doncaster in early March, but this will not leave much time before The Festival - if he goes there.Grey Bobby popped his way up three flights of hurdles for the first time yesterday, and reports are, that he did it really well and showed plenty of scope. His debut has left a bit of a mark on him, and he has lost a bit of weight but hopefully he will chill out a bit and regain his condition so that we can get another bumper run into him in the spring. Bobby Gee will have 3 entries next weekend at Sandown on Friday, and at Newcastle and Warwick on the Saturday - I am looking forward to seeing him back on the track, and hopefully leaving the form of his last run well behind him!
