Believe it or not- the photographs on the right of the page are actually the same animal. As I mentioned, last weekend I was able to pop over to Michael and Fionas to see the youngsters that are over there. They are all looking really well - none more so than the fellow in the pics. He is the Overbury gelding that I purchased last January, he was a beautiful model at the sales 12 months ago, and has grown into a stunning young horse as you can see. He is a full brother to a horse that won his first two bumpers and went on to finish second in the championship bumper at Aintree. He has the looks and the pedigree to be a very smart horse, and I can't wait to see him race!He will either be retained, or may go to the sales as a 3 yr old, either way, the first part of the journey will start in a few weeks when he comes to Fences Farm to be broken in.Most 'store' horses are now broken in when they go to the sales. In days past, if a store horse was broken in it was usually considered detrimental as it was thought the horse had been tried, but these days when the world seems to move at a million miles an hour, sending the horse to the sales having been broken in is seen as a time saving advantage to the purchaser, and not to the detriment of the vendor!
