After a whole heap of hassle, Omaruru has finally been booked in to have his breathing operation! Thanks to Stuart who has been tireless in his efforts to tie down the vets to arrange the op - in fairness to the vets, it was the surgeon, Geoff Lane that was a difficult man to get to, but I am pleased to say that it has all got the go ahead, and will be done on Friday evening. Omaruru will come back to Fences Farm on Thursday for a bath and a tidy up (they don't like dirty horses in their clean and sterile operating theatres) and then go to the Barretstown clinic on Friday. Fingers crossed all goes well, the operation is far more routine now, but there is always a risk when a large animal is aneasthatised. The weather looks as though it will be OK for the cricket on Thursday - it looks like being a great turn out for our summer social, the bar will be open and the hog roast is booked! The hog roast will be free, but there will be a strategically placed bucket nearby, into which those grazing are encouraged to make a small donation to charity! Let's hope for a good match, and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
