Sunday 16 October

It was a beautiful morning yesterday - a small confession - I missed the frosty start due to a very sociable evening with two of Smart Exits owners, Dave and Tracy Morely on Friday which went into the wee small hours. It meant I missed Smart Exit exercise, but they say he is in great from, he will be prepared ready (nearly) for action at the end of the month, by which time we must surely be getting some rain, and he will be be ready to go when conditions suit. After breakfast it was good to see Alan Gibson and Kevin and Jo Hornby, along with Andrew Lambert and Sophie who all come over to see Kikos work and also catch up with their other boy Omaruru. Kikos worked well, but has not been entered at Fakenham on Friday - he is more likely to go to Uttoxeter on 28th, Omaruru improves every day. Third lot San Telm did two good canters and is going very nicely - he should be ready to run in about 6 weeks, and will begin his schooling this week on the dirt surface, which is still fit for use because of the dry weather. Colebrooke has had his shoe replaced and enjoyed a few hours out in the paddock.
