Monday 17 October
He is proving to be quite good! Frankel ran away with the QEII at Ascot on Saturday, and now goes off for his winter holidays. Great that he remains in training next season, as he should put racing on the front pages for the right reasons over the course of the next 12 months. Senior jockeys meet with the BHA today to thrash through the new whip rules, it will be interesting to see what they come up with. At home Monday is always quiet, but is even more so at the moment with most of the string waiting for some rain! Who would have thought the the ground would still be this quick in mid October!! We have to be patient - it will come! One or two people have mentioned to me over the course of the past 2 weeks that they would be interested in joining in with another Club horse if one were to come along. A couple of weeks ago I found a likely candidate, who has gone on to be a winner since, and he is entered in the sales at Doncaster at the end of the month. He would be a very worthy addition to our roster, being by Cape Cross (same as Omaruru) out of a mare that was placed in a classic! He is just like Omar - tall and rangy, and one that I think will excel over hurdles. If I can get enough folks together before he goes to the sales I will try and buy him, so if you would like to join in with him, then please get in touch as soon as possible. Costs will be approx £500 for a 4% share plus £20/week all inc. Email:info@nickbrownracing.co.uk or give me a call on 07909 518902, 01234 771940.
