After a bit of a stop start period with new boy Benefit Cut, I am pleased to report that he went very well yesterday. After his recent bout of infections he finally seems to be coming right, and trapped along very well with Aeschylus yesterday. Sitting alongside his fellow Bumper winner he gradually left him, and went on to join Ogee up ahead. Although it was not a 'proper' piece of work it was very satisfactory, and he is now ready to do a good strong piece of work on Saturday, followed by a similar piece on Tuesday, after which we can start looking for races for him. Tannerman, entered in Southwell next Monday, will also be entered today for Huntingdon next Tuesday. The ground will be the key to where he shows up, and judging by the photos I saw yesterday of Huntingdon on Monday, where the ground is now soft heavy in places,it looks very likely that he will head to Nottinghamshire where they are giving their going as Good. No joy at the sales yesterday - I am now ploughing through a French catalogue to see what we can find! I have seen one in th UK that I think will do the job as a Kikos replacement, and will make some enquiries about that one over the course of the next couple of days.
