Monday 12 November

All the horses seem to be in rude health at the moment, bar one, which we will come on to in a moment.I made it up the top of the hill for just first lot on Saturday, as I had a date with a game of rugby and several pints of Guiness! First lot were mainly horses that had had a run recently or had no immediate target and so they just did two good canters, and all did it well. Second lot were the workers, and although I missed it I was soon being told about some very smart work! Especially from San Telm who was reported to be 'amazing' by Martin Fowkes who's Father in Law Terence owns a quarter share in ST along with Howard Cooke who joined them to watch work. Stuart also reported ST to be 'electric', so he has certainly earnt his entry in Cheltenham on Sunday! Stuart was also thrilled with Howard and Terence's other horse Benefit Cut who he described as 'class' when I spoke to him later in the morning! He will have an entry in Leicester a week today. The Fonz and Tannerman both breezed off the top, ahead of their runs this afternoon and both seem in great form. As I have said all the horses seem well, apart from Colebrooke who had to miss his work on Saturday due to a foot infection that had made him very sore. Yesterday he was no better, but Stuart now thinks he has found the site of infection and touch wood he will be OK in a day or two. Off to Southwell in a bit, where the yard have had 5 winners from 12 runners in the recent past, and are 3 from 6 in handicap hurdles! Let's hope we can add to the tally today!
