Wednesday 14 November

A case of having ones cake and eating it today. I have a wish list of weather! The perfect scenario would be for the rest of the week to remain dry, with a nice breeze to get the ground at Cheltenham to dry up for Ogee on Saturday after which it needs to rain hard to ease it to Soft for San Telm on Sunday! Surely not too much to ask, although it looks as though we may get the weather down there during racing on Saturday, which is unfortunate for Ogee, but should be ideal for ST. On the other side of the country in Leicester no further rain is needed! Benefit Cut and Colebrooke are entered there next Monday. Colebrooke will unfortunately miss out as his foot has flared up again overnight, and he will need a bit more time for things to settle down, but Benefit Cut will not be pulled about on very bad ground on his hurdling debut. The ground at Leicester is currently soft, and BC's race is the last on the card, meaning that he will get the worst of the ground, so we really don't want too much more rain there. As planned Benny will have entries in Warwick and Market Rasen later in the week, just in case the conditions become too bad for him to take up his favored engagement on Monday. The good news is that he seems to be in terrific form, and did a very eye-catching piece of work yesterday that got Alice quite excited! He is certainly a bright prospect!! Aeschylus is about 2 weeks off a run as is going nicely.
