Well - a cracking weekend for me! Down to the Cotswolds on Thursday, and a very handy room upgrade in the hotel, which meant we had a smahing little cottage in the hotel grounds! Three days at The Open Meeting, capped off with San Telm's great run yesterday! Countryside Day on Friday is always good fun, and we had a super day, with a couple of enquiries for new horses and shares in them! Paddy Power Gold Cup day on Saturday went ahead without Ogee sadly, but the ground had really gone for him, and there will be other days. We still enjoyed a great day! Yesterday San Telm ran a cracker. The ground that had prevented Ogee turning up was ideal for ST and he ran a great race to be 4th in a very competitive handicap! Congratulations to Alice, who, assissted by Megan, turned the boy out looking a million dollars and picked up the Best Turned Out award - again!! Tom O'Brien once again took the ride and he was delighted with the horse. The stiff hill probably caught him out a bit, and we will look at returning to a flatter track next time. ST's owners enjoyed a great day, and we look forward to going somewhere nice again soon. ST has come out of the race in good order this morning and we will look for a race for him in 3-4 weeks. Yesterday Cheltenham, today Leicester - just a slight difference - there were probably more people in the paddock yesterday than there will be on the whole track today, but that will not effect Benefit Cut who makes his long awaited debut for Howard Cooke and Terence Jenner today. BC is a lovely horse that has a very bright future and we hope we can kick of his hurdling career in good style today!
