Amistress is only a pony, but like her stablemate Grassfinch has a real heart, and not inconsiderable 'engine', and was a brave winner in Wincanton yesterday. Paddy Brennan had always maintained she would win, after her hurdling debut in Towcester last month, and despite the presence of a very nice N Henderson mare and a recent A King winner, she did just that!! Travelling very sweetly throughout the race she took it up entering the home straight and won nicely! She is fine this morning and should win again! No joy in Doncaster yesterday - just one target - and it failed to show up! -0 No great drama in itself. but as it was due through the ring at about 12.30, and wasn't declared a withdrawal until 11.00am it was very frustrating! Stuart and Nick Sarson are our eyes and ears up there today as i have to be elsewhere, but we have 2 targets and with a bit of luck they will both be there - and equally importantly be in budget!! Benefit Cut, who is currently on holiday at Fences Farm, had his form boosted again yesterday when Ulan Bhute, form the Vennetia Williams yard, who he had beaten by 14 lengths into 4th in Kempton galloped away from his field in a Southwell maiden hurdle last night to win by 13 lengths (there was a further 12 lengths back to the third). His jockey Aiden Coleman stated that he 'was probably entitled to do that', which suggests to me that he felt that the form of the Kempton race that BC won was very strong - all good news. Now that the worth of BC's form is coming to the fore (Church Field who he beat 46 lengths won last week) please get in touch if you would like to invest in the family - it is an opportunity not to be missed!! 07909 518902 or info@nickbrownracing.co.uk - but don't delay as it will soon be gone!!
