Monday 20 May

It was nice to welcome some new faces to Fences Farm on Saturday morning. John & Cheryl came over from Shropshire to meet Tara Dancer and new boy Guest Of Honour along with Jo Wheatley and her daughter Molly who came up from Cheshunt. John and Jo are the latest members of Nick Brown Racing, and will have the pleasure of seeing GOH and TD running in their colours in the future. Also in were the Johns - Bird and Bartlett - who were very excited by the purchase of Guest Of Honour, and couldn't wait to get over to the Farm and have a look at him!! They were all treated to GOH doing a nice canter past them on the all weather, and we were all very pleased. Stephie rode him and said he was 'lovely'. GOH has been introduced to the jumps paddock today, and had a little pop over some poles etc and Stuart was very pleased with him. He reports that he has a very quick technique! Unfortunately TD was off games with a foot infection on Saturday, and was confined to barracks, but she will be on the go again from today. E Major was a little disappointing yesterday, and will need a proper set of headgear when we see him again! It was nice to see Benefit Cuts half brother Ballyben run such a cracking race in Perth last week, just failing to haul back a 129 rated rival, in another 3 strides he would have won!!. The race was a 3mile + novices hurdle and Ballyben looks a nice prospect over a trip, so when Benny gets to run over a distance of ground he could be very nice indeed considering he has the pace to win on quick ground, over the minimum trip, around one of the quickest tracks in the country!!
