Monday 22 July
Tara Dancer has been declared to run in Southwell tomorrow - Paddy Brennan takes the ride. They have done a great job with their ground - watering well and providing Good Ground. There is a fair chance of some thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow which will not hinder her at all. Ogee also has an outing I the race after TD's (3.45) and any rain should not be a problem to him either. She breezed nicely with Ogee on Saturday. Great to see Terence and son in law Martyn on Saturday as well. Terence is the joint owner of Benefit Cut, and also has shares in San Telm and Smart Exit. Martyn has a share in Omaruru. They were both delighted to see BC do 2 canters, and like me were thrilled to see how chilled out he is at the moment. Hopefully his head will remain in the right place and we will really see some exciting performance from the very nice horse this season! Terence has now registered his own colours, and the checks remain - but the colours have changed!! Good to see Colebrooke for the first time in a few weeks - he, like all the horses, has returned looking fantastic after a holiday at Ann and Colin Garratt's. He looks to have filled out nicely, and we will sit down and discuss some plans with his owners, Ben Turner and Jay Tabb in the near future. He may stay over hurdles or he may start a novice chase campaign. Guest Of Honour looks terrific, and has begun his exercise regime - he should be ready to run in early October and I am very much looking forward to seeing him jump a hurdle, after we give him one sighting mission in a bumper!
