Benefit Cut seems fine after his run on Saturday. He ran well, finishing third in what was probably the best Novices Hurdle run since the spring. BC made the running as planned, but as with his seasonal debut last year - his jumping left a bit to be desired and he was a fraction keen in the early stages. All in all - a third place finish in that company, carrying a penalty, and without being given a hard race (Paddy didn't hit him once), it was satisfactory, and now gives him options in the future. He may go handicap hurdling, or even novice chasing - a decision on which will be made in the next 2 weeks. On Saturday morning Bob Graham and John Bartlett popped in to see their horses - and saw Guest Of Honour work well. Stuart is satisfied that he has now done enough work to justify an entry in Fontwell on Saturday - and he will be entered today. There looks to be some rain forecast on the south coast later this week, so he should get a nice surface to run on, and it will be a nice introduction for us to learn plenty about him. A chat on Saturday suggested that we may try and book the services of Jamie Moore, as we feel he will suit the horse perfectly, and there is no better man around the track - he knows every blade of grass around there!! Genny Wren will have an entry on the same day. Carolina Wren is entered in Bangor on Thursday.
