Wednesday 30 October
Guest Of Honour, who worked very pleasingly yesterday will go to Huntingdon on Sunday. He will contest a 2 1/2 mile novices hurdle there. We have plumped for Huntingdon for a number of reasons, primarily because being a Sunday, we hope that most of his owners will get to see him run. In addition, he does not have a ballot for Sunday (which he does for the other 2 races he is entered in), and with Carlisle being the only other jumps fixture that afternoon we should get the jockeys that we want. Sunday will be very much a learning curve for the horse as it is his first outing over hurdles, but he will strip much fitter than his last run, and should run nicelly. Smart Exit (Still that share available), although entered in Wetherby on Friday will miss that run and go to Plumpton on Monday. he is entered in a 3m 2f Novices handicap chase there, which has been reopened as it only attracted 8 entries at the deadline yesterday!! Plumpton's ground would look like being more suitable, and with a bit of head gear applied he should run well - although his primary aim next month is the Cambridgeshire National on the 23rd in Huntingdon. Maypole Lass has now finished her course of antibiotics and her work is improving daily - she will go to Leicester on November 18th, where she will hopefully earn her place in the Listed fillies juvenile in Aintree in early December. By the end of the weekend we should have a plan for our four novice chasers - Benefit Cut, San Telm, Colebrooke and Omaruru. We will have all their entries planned and it will then be a case of judging the opposition and keeping an eye on the ground. Talking of Omaruru - we welcome Bill Dickenson to Nick Brown Racing, and wish him luck with his share in Omar!!
