Wednesday 13 November
I hate to speak too soon, but the long wait is nearly over. Omaruru, if all goes well, will have an entry in Warwick next Wednesday. He had his away day last Friday, and worked very well with Colebrooke yesterday morning. As long as all is well come tomorrow morning he will have an entry in a 0-110 novice handicap chase. He last ran off of a mark of 114, but we feel the handicapper could well give us a chance in a 0-110, and top weight for him would be no problem!! Keep your fingers crossed folks!! Omar worked well yesterday, as did everything. They all seem in great form, although Benefit Cut faces a few days on the sidelines with a little niggle, but should be back on the go in a week or so. Plans for the weekend are still a little up in the air. San Telm has an entry in Uttoxeter, but we have to monitor ground and jockey availability. He will be entered today for Fakenham next Tuesday. Colebrooke is in at Uttoxeter on Saturday and Fontwell on Sunday, again we will monitor jockeys, ground and opposition - we are hoping for a small field. Maypole Lass will be ben Turners first runner as a sole owner in Leicester on Monday - 11 entries - and she should go nicely - she has been going nicely at home, and schools very well. Tom O'Brien did a good job with Coffers yesterday. He was never happy on the very testing ground, and Tom was right to just hold him together and get him home on it. He will be seen in a much better light on a sounder surface. More interest in the new filly yesterday - a half sister to 5 bumper winners - if she goes as well as she looks, and manages to win a bumper she will be a very valuable commodity!! She could well be worth an awful lot of money in less than 6 months time!! To boom your place in the 10 strong Oakley Partnership - give me a call on 07909 518902. She could be a lovely little investment!! (Photos right)
