Friday 3 January

Brace yourselves - wet and windy weather is on its' way back!! Inspections at Sandown and Wincanton tomorrow - let's hope they miss the worst of it! Yesterday - while tracking the entries I noticed that there were not many for the 3m novices chase in Ludlow next Wednesday - so a quick phone call and San Telm and Colebrooke were both entered. The ground over the is unusually soft, which will not inconvenience either of them. As we stand at the moment - San Telm is more likely to go to Leicester on Tuesday, with Colebrooke having a go round Ludlow, or he may even go for a decent chase in Kempton on the Saturday (11th). Genny Wren found the ground pretty tough yesterday, and allied with the pace of the race, and a mistake at a crucial stage she ended up well beaten. There will be other days for her!! Good to see the Racing Post highlight the lot of owners this morning - owners are the bed rock of racing - without them - no horses, no trainers, no racing, no racecourses - it is time their voices were heard, and some racecourses should take heed of what are basic requirements!! Prize money is back on the up, let's hope that facilities and services improve at a few of the tracks!
