Friday 9 May
All go here this morning, checking ground mainly as this was the key as to where everything was going over the next 2 days. Mixed results - today we needed Market Rasen to ease a tad for San Telm to run, it has, good to soft in places. Stuart will walk the back straight, but it looks like they have had just enough. Both ST and Mr Maynard have a chance this afternoon. Haydock needed no more rain - but they got it, Good To Soft with 10-12mm forecast. Too much for Dawn Commander so he will be forced to sit out once again, and will now have an entry in Aintree next Friday evening. Plumpton Sunday, needed to ease for Smart Exit. It is Good ground with up to 10mm forecast, so he will take his chance and go. 8 run, and he should run well now that the visors that he resented so much last time are off. he has run well at the track, and 3m 2f on slightly better ground may be the key to him. Colebrooke is fine after his win on Wednesday. Maypole Lass is still on track for Towcester on Monday evening, as long as the ground isn't too soft. She will have the safety net of an entry in Aintree next Friday as well. As usual, I am always trying to up the quality of the horses we have, and I believe I have found a couple of very nice ones for next season. Both have proven form, and are recent winners. I must be mad - but I am considering putting together another 25 person Racing Club, but will need to know an idea of numbers before taking the plunge. The costs will work out at between £500 and £1000 per share, with the usual £20/week all inclusive training/keep fee. Please call me on 07909 518902, or email info@nickbrownracing.co.uk for further information. These horses will not be around for long, so I will need to know sooner rather than later! Look at the fun you can have - Dawn Commander wins 2 out of 3 this year and his lucky owners share just over £12,000!! Remember - 07909 518902 for further details.
